The Racer’s Edge Live (Ep03)
Here’s a recording of the live show we aired on Thursday, April 09, 2020. It includes all the chat and questions that sped us quickly through the hour and finishes with some footage I think you’ll love – shots of Paris, 2004, when a certain Ferrari driver brought the city to a standstill. I’ll be following this video with some shorter edits from the show, including the 1967 Rouen F2 race, but I hope you’ll enjoy this longer version too. The time seemed to fly my end; hope it did/does yours.
Next week’s TRE Live will be aired on our YouTube Channel (https://www.youtube.com/peterwindsor) at 18:00 UK. The Chat panel on the live page seems pretty seamless so I look forward to hearing form you then.

Peter, it is great to hear from you again. Didn’t hear much after we met at the Ferrari Museum in Maranello in 2017…
Hola Peter,
I hope this email finds you well and in good spirits… I want to express my appreciation for sending The Racer’s Edge emails to me.
The (EP03) Q & A was Fantastic! Sorry, I meant to say Brilliant! I also enjoyed Beaky’s story, Bob Dance was always getting the lads in trouble at race meetings, including me. I was taken away one Saturday night at Monaco (’78”) from the Tip Top for rolling a beer barrel down the hill toward Mirabeau. The police grabbed three of us still in our JPS gear having worked late as usual. James Hunt was throwing raw eggs at the Tip Top sign but they didn’t take him away, only us. As the crowd cheered, they took us down the hill and after we rounded the corner away from the crowd, I pulled a handful of JPS stickers (decals) from my sock and gave them to the policemen and they let us go as long as we didn’t go back to the bar. I think that was the same year Gary Anderson was thrown in jail for the whole week-end. Didn’t get out until Monday.
I’m still in deep-cover at my ranch in northern Idaho (Sandpoint)… but with the PPE shortages in the America and the need to help out the health care workers, I started looking around my place for a suitable substitute. So far, I have found three possibilities that might work.
We all must do our part to help. I send the same photos to Mario and he responded with and “LOL” which was way cool…
Interestingly, one of the questions from your Q & A was about Helmets… note: the two pictured our from Dan and Mario whom I work with as you know.
I look forward to more Racer’s Edge installments… keep up the good work. The short F2 film was great.
Be well and be safe my friend.
Cheers, Piggy Malone

Hi Clement! Good to hear from you. How’s it going?
Hi Piggy! Great to hear from you and thanks for the message. There’s some of Ep04 accounted for already! Glad you’re keeping safe; and, yes, Mario also had a classic helmet design. Not sure about Dan’s. Came in useful, I think, when Jim broke one of his white peaks at Zandvoort in ’64…
Let’s do an email.
Stay safe, Peter
Hi Piggy! Great to hear from you. And thanks for the Monaco story! That’ll be in the next show.
Let’s email. Stay safe.
Peter
