  1. The rumour has it Hulk will be promoted to race seat next year, maybe the rumour is correct… Certainly won’t be a bad idea and Sutil won’t be left without a racing seat anyway, he did OK in his 5 years with the team; unless VJ wants to turn AS into Force India’s version of Coulthard, they already use McLaren technology so… McLaren mentality is next?

A driver who’s capable of achieving a pole position in F1 shouldn’t be left without a drive, circumstances were a bit special, no doubt, but the same thing happened to Barrichello in his Jordan days and he proved to be a winner when paired with fast machinery/winning outfit. Add Sahara’s investment in the team, and we’ll be looking for an even more competitive mid-field in F1 next year. If all goes to plan, SFI will be capable of challenging for top 6 on some occasions, they’ve got the experience and the right people to do the job.

  2. Yes, a few people questioned Nico’s decision to accept a third driver role at FI but all the hard work could well pay off in 2012: the Sahara deal is the biggest new sponsorship contract since Santander and the team in 2011 have performed well with minimal resources. More money doesn’t always equate to more success but there are some good people at SFIGP, so there’s a good chance they’ll continue to progress in 2012.
